Overview
Settle your life in South Korea quickly by taking APA’s comprehensive 4-day Orientation Program, including logistics set-up, campus and dorm tour, city tour, program orientation sessions, cooking class, and meeting with the local student community.
Choose from 1000+ English courses offered from 15 Hanyang colleges and 61 departments, including various courses from engineering department that Ranked 1st in South Korea by Korea Economic Daily Engineering School Assessment.
Get a “Nanodegree” specially offered by Hanyang to build essential skills to start a career in your field after getting every 6 credits of your course.
Participate in APA’s off-campus components, including cultural activities, optional internships, APA community events, volunteering opportunities, and alumni networking.
Access to APA on-site coordinator and other staff for continued support throughout the program.
University Introduction
- Hanyang University is a private research university founded in 1939. It established Korea’s first engineering institute (DongA Engineering Institute) which became the founding facility of the University. It also established the first school of architecture and civil engineering of the nation. Hanyang University is very proud of its contribution to the country’s modern age and industrialism.
- Hanyang University has prestigious reputation in teaching and research. According to the latest overall QS World University Ranking, it ranked 4th in South Korea and 157th worldwide.
- Hanyang University has two campuses, Seoul and ERICA. You will spend your semester at Hanyang’s Seoul Campus, which at located at the heart of Seoul city. It gives you easy access to the frontier of Korean pop culture, fashion and all the fresh trends young people love.
- Hanyang University has established partnership with over 700 overseas institutions and welcomes over 7,400 foreign students each year.
Course
- Students can take up to 20 credits per semester at Hanyang.
- Similar with US academic system, one Hanyang credit consists of 15 contact hours. Most courses are awarded 3 credits.
- Visiting students should take at least one regular course to maintain their visa.
- 1000+ Courses from 15 colleges and 61 departments taught in English are open for visiting students to choose. No matter which department you are registered at, all courses from different departments are available for you to choose.

Housing
- Due to the central location, on-campus dormitory is a very limited resource of Hanyang. University affiliated dormitory is not available for visiting students until further notice.
- APA will provide assistance and guidance you to find different accommodation solutions based on your customized need and budget.
APA recommends submitting your application one month before the deadline to secure a place.
