Overview

Dive into your semester in China quickly by taking APA’s comprehensive 4-day Orientation Program in Shanghai, including logistic set-up, campus and dorm tour, city tour, program orientation sessions, cooking class, Thai Chi class, and meeting with local student community.

Participate APA’s off-campus components, including excursions to other cities in China, optional internship, APA community events, volunteering opportunities, and alumni networking.

Rest assured knowing that the APA on-site coordinator and other staff are there to provide continued support throughout the semester.

Take courses with other international students from the world for 6 levels which are elementary, intermediate, and advanced language acquisition.

Have a comprehensive training with diverse curriculum elements including listening, speaking, reading and writing which are combined together to improve language ability.

Receive officially granted certificate and transcript (with credits attached) for completion.

University Introduction

Located in the southwest of Shanghai, a center of commerce, finance, culture and industrial production of China, East China University of Science and Technology is a dynamic and prominent research-intensive university with high teaching quality.

ECUST started enrollment and cultivation for international students since 1956.

ECUST is comprised of more than 1.7 million square meters on 3 campuses. The main campus, being 17 kilometers from Hongqiao Airport and 45 kilometers from Pudong International Airport, is situated in the prosperous and energetic Xuhui District.

The university has 17 academic schools, together with the MOE-approved Sino-French joint school, International Elite Engineering School. A wide range of programs, covering 11 disciplines, including science, engineering, agriculture, medicine, economics, management, literature, etc., are offered to cater to the demands of the society and to prepare the students for an ever-changing global context.

Course

ECUST offers classes for different Chinese levels: 6 levels for elementary, intermediate and advanced language acquisition.

The class will be open with at least 6 students of each level.

A total of 16 weeks in one semester.

1 semester = HSK3/4, 2 Semester = HSK 4/5.

APA recommends submitting your application anytime from June for Spring semester, and from January for Fall semester. APA may consider late applications if the deadline has passed.
